About Our Story
Coal Ash Institute of India [CAII] is a not-for-profit registered professional society having its registration No. S/78004. It was registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act 1961 in September 1994. The Institute was founded with the objective of acting as a knowledge centre for protecting the society and environment from pollution emanating from coal combustion products originating in thermal power plants and various process industries.
- To engage with different thermal power stations on the production, collection, segregation, utilization and disposal of pulverized fuel ash by respective TPS, irrespective of the fuel being used.
- To improvise and recommend modern process technologies to different thermal power stations for the collection, segregation, utilization and disposal of pulverized fuel ash in environment friendly manner.

Membership
The constitution of CAII has provisions of different categories of membership. At present there are two categories - institutional and individual. There are 16 institutionl members and 308 individual members at present.
