Past Interactive Sessions - Coal Ash Institute of India

About Our Story

Coal Ash Institute of India is a not-for-profit registered professional society having its registration No. S/78004. It was registered under the West Bengal Society Registration Act 1961 in September 1994. The Institute was founded with the objective of acting as a knowledge centre for protecting the society and environment from pollution emanating from coal combustion products originating in thermal power plants and various process industries.

    • Around 1996-97, CAII sent a questionnaire to TPS all over India with a view to obtain authentic data regarding ash-generation and utilization. The response was reasonably good and the Institute published those data in its News Letter.
    • Around 1997-98, CAII sent questionnaires to brick field owners of West Bengal and all over India to identify the bottlenecks in the utilization of coal ash in brick manufacturing by conventional method. Unfortunately, the response was poor. However, one important feedback was non-availability of coal ash for brick manufacturers.
